The purpose of the program is to train SME staff in learning about National and Co-financed grant programs, with the aim of effectively utilizing available resources.

This specialized seminar covers a range of topics, from the definition and significance of grants to the management and evaluation of proposals. Through practical applications, participants will acquire essential knowledge and skills that will enhance their access to available resources.

Training Need

The total funds for Cyprus from the European Union for the period 2021 – 2027 amount to over one billion euros, according to data released by the Commission. These funds include SMEs and support the country’s economic and social development and the green and digital transition. However, SMEs face several challenges regarding securing funding, particularly due to the cost of preparing and submitting applications and the lack of expertise in their preparation.

Training Objectives

Upon completion of the seminar, participants will be able to:

  • identify suitable funding for their business.
  • understand the terminology of Grant Program Guides, as well as budget forms.
  • prepare a strategic plan and set clear goals for their business to draw appropriate funds.
  • know the key points for writing and submitting successful proposals, knowing how to avoid common mistakes.
  • ensure continuous updates from targeted websites and information portals for new funding programs.
  • develop collaboration networks with organizations/businesses in Cyprus and Europe.

Trainer Description

Ms. Kalia Dimitriadou

Kalia Dimitriadou is the founder and managing director of the private company Growth Consultants Ltd, which is active in consulting and drafting proposals related to funding schemes and incentives at the state and European level.

She has over 10 years of experience as a project consultant and manager funded by various funds (Schemes of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry and the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Erasmus+ and Norway Grants).

Kalia holds a degree in International Relations and European Studies and postgraduate degrees in International Relations and Business Administration. In addition to her studies, she has also obtained the LCCI in Public Relations, certifications in content marketing, and proposal writing. She is also a certified adult trainer by the Human Resource Development Authority in Cyprus.

Her main area of expertise in training is in entrepreneurship, business development, and leveraging schemes with over 300 hours of completed training seminars.
