Grant Scheme for Improving Accessibility Infrastructure

Implementation Period

Applications are accepted until 31/12/2025 or until the budget is exhausted.

Scheme Objective

To improve the level of services offered and upgrade the tourism product related to special interest tourism (Religious / Shooting / Diving / Sports – including facilities for Persons with Disabilities, Archery, Track & Field, Sambo / Nature / Cruise Tourism) through the creation or upgrade of infrastructure.

Eligible Beneficiaries

• Municipalities and Communities
• Hotels and Tourist Accommodations
• Traditional Buildings
• Metropolitan Churches (Dioceses)
• Legal Entities
  
  

Beneficiaries must hold all required operational licenses according to their sector, cadastral plans, and copies of property title deeds.

Grant Amount & Eligible Expenses

The maximum grant per case will not exceed 75% of the total eligible costs, with an upper limit of €30,000.

Eligible investments include accessibility infrastructure improvements, environmental awareness actions, and the creation/upgrading of facilities for special interest tourism:

A. Religious Tourism

1. Accessibility improvements at entrances of religious monuments for persons with mobility difficulties
2. Creation of worship spaces at airports, ports, marinas, hotels, and tourist accommodations
3. Construction/upgrading of visitor restrooms (Men, Women, Persons with Disabilities)
4. Landscaping around religious monuments

B. Diving Tourism

1. Accessibility improvements at diving entry points from the coast
2. Construction of shelters (kiosks) for use by divers
3. Construction of piers for access to diving sites
4. Installation of permanent buoys
5. Placement of waste and recycling bins
   
   

C. Sports Tourism

1. Shooting / Archery Tourism

• Purchase and installation of electronic scoreboards and timers
• Purchase of recycling bins and systems for cartridge and shot recycling
• Construction of shelters
• Creation of restroom facilities
• Purchase of storage spaces for targets/equipment
  
  

2. Sambo

• Purchase and supply of Tatami mats
• Purchase and supply of electronic scoreboards for competitions
  
  

3. Track & Field

• Fencing of the athletic field
• Upgrading throwing areas; purchase of landing mats for high jump and pole vault
  
  

4. Facilities for Persons with Disabilities

• In licensed sports facilities
  
  

D. Nature / Rural Tourism

• Purchase and installation of permanent water filters that convert water to drinking quality in licensed Traditional Buildings
  
  

E. Cruise Tourism

• Construction of shaded areas in arrival zones at ports/marinas
